What’s driving Kentucky’s outsized incarceration laws that among the highest in the nation?
On the next Connections, Renee Shaw talks with investigative reporter Jonathan Bullington of the Louisville Courier-Journal about the newspaper’s recent enterprise project with the Vera Institute of Justice examining Kentucky’s persistent violent offender laws (PFO). The project analyzed PFO cases over a 43 year period, tracking the law’s impact on offenders and their families.
