New PBS KIDS app strengthens kids’ measurement skills

For Release: 06/24/16 9:45 AM

PBS KIDS recently debuted a new, free app designed to help kids ages three to five improve their math skills. The new PBS KIDS Measure Up! App focuses on building kids’ measurement skills through a combination of games, videos and activities from popular PBS KIDS’ series.

The new app lets children explore concepts such as length, width, capacity and weight while collecting rewards through a combination of games, videos and activities with characters from PBS KIDS’ series Dinosaur Train, Peg + Cat and Sid the Science Kid.

Parents can track their children’s progress through a free companion app called PBS KIDS Super Vision, which offers tools for parents and caregivers as well as ideas for additional, skill-building activities beyond the screen.

PBS KIDS Measure Up! is available for free on iPad as well as Android tablets in the Amazon Appstore. It will be coming soon to Google Play. PBS KIDS Super Vision is available for free on iPhone and iPod touch as well as Android mobile devices on Google Play.

PBS KIDS Measure Up! was developed as part of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and PBS Ready to Learn Initiative with funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
