Sen. Mitch McConnell, Kentucky’s Republican senior senator and the majority leader in the United States Senate, sits down with KET’s Renee Shaw for a wide-ranging interview featuring reflections on his achievements, the current state of politics in the nation and more.
Mitch McConnell’s Political Reflections airs Monday, Aug. 6 at 9/8 pm on KET, following KET’s highlights coverage of Fancy Farm 2018.
McConnell, who recently made Senate history as that body’s longest-serving Republican leader, talks about his achievements in the Senate as well as those of Henry Clay, Vice President Alben Barkley and Sen. John Sherman Cooper, important Kentucky figures on the national political stage.
In addressing the current political scene, Shaw and McConnell talk about the vacancy on the Supreme Court, immigration issues, foreign affairs, the Mueller investigation of President Trump and the upcoming midterm elections, among other topics.
Mitch McConnell’s Political Reflections is a KET production, produced by Renee Shaw. The program was recorded in July.
