KET’s WinterPledge 2016 features The Mamas and The Papas, Poldark season finale and more

During KET’s WinterPledge 2016, Nov. 25 through Dec. 4, viewers have the opportunity to enjoy great specials and an array of star-studded musical concerts – all while helping KET carry out its mission of providing high-quality, educational programming to citizens throughout Kentucky and beyond.

Plus, those who donate during this special event will have the opportunity to receive tickets to a wide range of concerts and experiences that KET offers as thank-you gifts.

During KET’s WinterPledge, viewers may call 800-866-0366 or go online at KET.org/donate to contribute. Contributions from viewers enable KET to purchase and acquire programs from PBS and other sources.

Viewers who make a donation may request, as a thank-you gift, tickets to concerts and experiences scheduled in Kentucky. Ticketed events include:

The Highwaymen: Live at Nassau Coliseum

Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson shine in this 1990 performance. Songs include “Big River,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” and “Always on My Mind.”

Anne of Green Gables

A new adaptation of the classic novel tells the story of Anne Shirley, a precocious orphan placed in the care of uptight Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew, played by acclaimed actor Martin Sheen. Neither the adventurous Anne nor the conservative Marilla could anticipate the profound effect they’d have on each other’s lives.

California Dreamin’: The Songs of The Mamas and The Papas

Celebrate 50 years of the harmonious pop-folk-rock group that defined an era. The special features interviews and performances by Mama Cass, Michelle, Denny and John, with rare footage not seen in decades.

Carpenters: Close to You & Christmas Memories
