American economist Joseph Stiglitz, a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics and the John Bates Clark Medal, is interviewed by Rana Foroohar on the next Great Conversations, airing Monday, May 29 at 9/8 pm on KET.
Stiglitz is the author of several books including The Price of Inequality: How Today’s Divided Society Endangers Our Future, and his most recent work, The Euro: How a Common Currency Threatens the Future of Europe. He is a former vice president and chief economist of the World Bank and is a former member and chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. He is known for his critical view of the management of globalization and his work to describe the inefficiency of markets.
Foroohar, author of Makers and Takers: The Rise of Finance and the Fall of American Business, is an assistant managing editor at TIME, a global business columnist for the Financial Times and a global economic analyst for CNN.
