KET’s Education Matters offers help with college financial aid process

KET’s College Financial Aid 2019: Education Matters offers help in navigating the all-important college financial aid application process. The program, hosted by KET’s Kelsey Starks, airs Monday, Oct. 15 at 9/8 pm on KET and Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 10/9 pm on KET2.
The program features a panel of financial aid experts who will provide information on the availability of scholarships, grants and other financial aid and offer tips on applying for financial assistance using the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Scheduled panelists include:
- Michael Birchett, Director of Financial Aid, Bluegrass Community and Technical College
- Heather Boutell, Director of Financial Aid, Bellarmine University
- Christina Jones, Assistant Director of Financial Aid, University of Kentucky
- Kate Ware, Student Aid Branch Manager, Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA)
Issues discussed by the panel will include common application mistakes, documents necessary to apply for financial aid, types of aid, deadlines and financial aid packages.
