KET offers comprehensive coverage of 2017 legislative session

KET’s extensive television broadcast and online coverage will keep viewers well-informed during the 2017 Kentucky legislative session, Jan. 3-6 and Feb. 7-March 30, as well as Interim Joint Committee meetings in January and February.

KET’s Legislative Update will air its first report of the 2017 legislative session on Friday, Jan. 6 at 8:30/7:30 pm. It will resume its regular, 11/10 pm weeknight air time beginning Tuesday, Feb. 7 on KET and at KET.org/live. The program, hosted by KET’s Renee Shaw, offers reports on issues being considered by the General Assembly as well as interviews with lawmakers and others. Additionally, in each program, Shaw shares updates on the most significant activities of the day’s legislative proceedings, including debate and votes on the floor of the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as committee testimony and actions.
KET will stream live coverage of the 22nd Annual Kentucky Chamber Day on Thursday, Jan. 5 beginning at 6:30/5:30 pm (scheduled start time) on KET.org/live. This year’s Chamber Day event will draw business leaders from across Kentucky to hear Governor Matt Bevin and the state’s top legislative leaders share their visions for Kentucky. KET’s Renee Shaw will anchor KET’s Chamber Day highlights coverage, airing Monday, Jan. 9 at 9/8 pm on KET.
Throughout the legislative session, journalists covering the General Assembly will discuss the week’s news on Comment on Kentucky, hosted by Bill Bryant, which airs Fridays at 8/7 pm on KET and KET.org/live.
Additionally, guests will address top issues being deliberated during the 2017 General Assembly on Kentucky Tonight, airing Mondays at 8/7 pm on KET and KET.org/live.
