KET hosts free ‘Be My Neighbor’ event in Louisville
For Release: 09/22/20 12:24 PM
KET and its partners, PNC and Fred Rogers Productions, are pleased to present Be My Neighbor Day on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 12 – 4 p.m. at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville.
The annual event, which celebrates Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and the role community helpers play in demonstrating what it means to be a caring neighbor, has been re-imagined this year as a drive-through parade to ensure the health and safety of all.
Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles as they participate in the parade, and masks will be required. Community helper and first responder vehicles—including police squad cars, a garbage truck, a neighborhood trolley, and more—will line the parade route for children and families to view. And, of course, Daniel Tiger will be there to wave to families as they drive through.
Upon entry, each child will be given a welcome bag filled with activities suitable for the car or at home.
The event is free, but registration is required. To register, please visit KET.org/neighborday.
