For Release: 02/12/18 12:36 PM

Princeton resident Sean Mestan was recently honored with the 2017 O. Leonard Press Award from KET. The annual award, established in honor of KET’s founder, recognizes an individual who has provided exemplary volunteer service to KET’s mission.

A dedicated volunteer and supporter of KET, Mestan has served in numerous leadership roles on the Friends of KET Board, including secretary/treasurer, vice president and president.

“Sean has been fully engaged with KET, from volunteering at KET Media Day at the Kentucky State Fair, the Kentucky Collectibles Appraisal Fair, and KET Friends Day at the Capitol to supporting KET through our annual fundraising drives,” said Julie Schmidt, KET’s senior director of external affairs and liaison to the Friends of KET Board. “We are grateful for Sean’s dedication and leadership.”

Currently an employee at Akridge Farm Supply and Ace Hardware in Fredonia, Mestan previously served as a corrections education specialist for the Kentucky Department of Corrections and as a Spanish teacher for the Caldwell County Board of Education. He is a graduate of Murray State University.
