For Release: 06/22/21 4:14 PM

Barbra Ledford of Baxter, Ky., was recently honored with the O. Leonard Press Award from KET. The annual award, established in honor of KET’s founder, recognizes an individual who has provided exemplary volunteer service and commitment to KET.

A dedicated teacher for Harlan Independent Schools, Ledford first joined the Friends of KET Board in 2009 and ultimately served in several leadership positions, including president and vice president.

“Barbra has served as an important link for KET, helping to connect resources with educators in her region and provide feedback to improve educational outcomes for students,” said Julie Schmidt, KET’s senior director of external affairs and liaison to the Friends of KET Board. “She is devoted to lifelong learning and is a tireless advocate both for education and KET.  We’re grateful for her dedication and service.”
