Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell – and his role as Senate Majority Leader – is focus of new KET special and new One to One
For Release: 01/05/15 2:01 PM
When Congress reconvenes in January, longtime Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell will assume a new, powerful role as Senate Majority Leader thanks to his unanimous election by fellow party members after the Republicans took control of the Senate in the November elections.
A new KET special, McConnell: Majority Leader looks at the significance of McConnell’s new position – and what his new role might mean for Kentucky and the nation. The program airs Monday, Jan. 26 at 8/7 pm on KET and will also stream live online at KET.org/live.
Hosted by Bill Goodman, the special was taped in Washington, D.C., where interviews were conducted not only with McConnell himself, but also with other members of the Kentucky federal delegation, including Rep. Hal Rogers and Sen. Rand Paul.
Additionally, Goodman sits down for an in-depth interview with Sen. McConnell from Lexington’s Ashland, The Henry Clay Estate, for a One to One with Bill Goodman airing Sunday, Jan. 25 at 1 pm/noon on KET and Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 7:30/6:30 pm on KET2.
During both programs, Goodman talks with Sen. McConnell about the issues topping his priority list as Senate Majority Leader – and how those priorities may unfold during the upcoming Congressional session.
McConnell: Majority Leader is a KET production. One to One with Bill Goodman is a KET production, produced and hosted by Bill Goodman.
