In Louisville, the Frazier History Museum will host a screening on Thursday, Sept. 8. The evening will begin with a 6 pm reception, followed by a 6:45 pm screening, both in the museum’s First Floor Great Hall.

The program, which was filmed on location at Shaker Village last May during the 2015 Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass, marks the first time that Live from Lincoln Center has been filmed outside of the Lincoln Center campus in its 40-year history.

The program features the venerated Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center performing American selections in the rustic, intimate Meadow View Barn on the picturesque Shaker Village grounds. The performance features works by distinctive American composers including Gottschalk and Barber, highlighted by Copland’s beloved Appalachian Spring featuring the iconic “Simple Gifts” Shaker melody.
