KET recently welcomed Jorge E. González as its new Senior Director of Technology. With more than 20 years of experience in television engineering and operations, he most recently served as Vice President of Engineering at Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, which comprises two radio and two television services, including WIPR-TV, the first educational television station in Latin America.

Previously, González served as a consultant for GFR Media Group, the largest news organization in Puerto Rico, and as Director of Engineering for the Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network, Inc. in Brooklyn, NY.

“We are excited to welcome Jorge and believe he will be a tremendous asset to KET,” said KET Executive Director and CEO Shae Hopkins. “His extensive experience will benefit the citizens of Kentucky as we look for new and innovative ways to serve our viewers.”

González, a licensed professional engineer, is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
