Born to Rein tells the story of America’s first Triple Crown winner: Sir Barton
For Release: 07/13/20 1:14 PM
Born to Rein pays tribute to Sir Barton, the first winner in 1919 of what would become the Triple Crown, following his journey from his birthplace at Hamburg Place in Lexington, Ky., to his final resting place in Washington Park in Douglas, Wyo.
Born to Rein airs Sunday, July 19, at 2/1 pm on KET.
The film also tracks the careers of a trio of Nebraska horse trainers— John Nerud, Marion Van Berg and Jack Van Berg—whose careers still influence the industry today, and takes viewers to Long Island, NY, where horse racing first found its footing in America in the mid-1600s.
Born to Rein is co-produced by Jody L. Lamp and Melody Dobson of American Doorstop Project Productions.
